Chalkfield Practice collects and stores the following information that you provide:
Team & Player Data
- Player names, jersey numbers, and positions
- Performance measurements (timing, velocity, batting stats)
- Practice plans, drill assignments, and game schedules
- Fielding rotations, batting orders, and depth charts
- Coach notes and lineup preferences
Usage & Activity Data
- Features you use and how often
- Session duration and navigation patterns
- Search terms and filter selections
Device & Technical Data
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- IP address (for security and diagnostics)
- Crash reports and error logs
Where Your Data Is Stored
Currently, all data is stored locally on your device. Future versions may store data on secure Chalkfield servers to enable features such as cloud sync, multi-device access, and team collaboration. If server-side storage is introduced, your data will be protected using industry-standard encryption.
How We Use Your Data
- Service Operations — Team management, roster maintenance, practice and game planning, cloud sync
- Analytics & Improvement — Monitor app performance, understand usage patterns, improve features, and develop new capabilities
- Marketing Communications — App updates, feature announcements, and coaching tips (you can opt out at any time)

De-identification
We may de-identify information so it no longer identifies individual coaches, players, or teams. De-identified and aggregated data may be used for analytics, research, product improvement, and marketing without restriction. De-identified data is not subject to the restrictions in this policy.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We may share data with service providers who help us operate and improve the app, such as hosting providers, analytics services, and crash reporting tools. These providers are required to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to Chalkfield.
We do not use advertising networks, targeting cookies, or data brokers. We do not share your data with media companies or sports organizations.
We may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as the app is active on your device and as reasonably necessary to provide our services. De-identified data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and research purposes.
Deleting the app removes all local data from your device. If server-side features are introduced, server-side data will be subject to our data retention policy. Residual copies may exist on backup systems for a reasonable period after deletion.
Individual players, practices, and games can be deleted within the app at any time.
What We Don't Collect
- No cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers
- No precise GPS location data
- No access to your contacts or photo library (unless you explicitly share)
- No data sold to third parties or advertisers
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Chalkfield Practice is designed for use by coaches and team managers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Player information entered by coaches — including names, jersey numbers, and performance data — is managed by the coach. By entering player data, coaches consent to its storage and processing as described in this policy.
Your Rights
You can delete all local data at any time by deleting the app. You can delete individual players, practices, and games within the app. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
